Senior Underwriter - Property

Aon are seeking an experienced Senior Property Underwriter to join our team in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting and analysing property insurance risks in accordance with the company's guidelines, as well as managing and developing relationships with brokers and clients. This role requires strong technical skills and knowledge of the property insurance market in Australia.

What the day will look like

You will be responsible for:  

  • Underwrite and analyse property insurance risks in accordance with the company's guidelines
  • Manage and develop strong relationships with brokers and clients
  • Provide technical expertise to other underwriters within the team
  • Monitor industry trends and regulations and provide insight to the team and senior management
  • Identify potential risks and recommend solutions to mitigate them
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the property insurance market in Australia

Skills and experience that will lead to success

 

We are looking for someone with a foundation of general insurance experience in a broking / underwriting / similar position. You will also have.

  • Experience in property underwriting, with a focus on commercial and industrial property risks
  • Strong technical knowledge of property insurance and related regulations in Australia
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and senior management
  • Ability to identify potential risks and recommend solutions to mitigate them
  • Sense of entrepreneurship and drive to succeed
