HIA Insurance Services (HIAIS) is a specialist insurance broker, providing insurance products and risk advice to the residential building industry. Formed in 1984, HIAIS is as a joint venture between two leaders in their respective industries, Aon and the Housing Industry Association (HIA).

Client Executive | Canberra

Do you have the drive, focus and ambition to learn?

We have an exciting opportunity for a customer focused and relationship driven individual to join our close knit HIA Team. We are open to both full or part time applications for this Canberra HIA role.

Joining a high performing team, the Client Executive will be responsible for dealing with the insurance policies for new clients and renewals of existing HIAIS clients.

This is the perfect role for someone who is looking to grow their insurance career in a challenging, fast paced and collaborative environment.

What the day will look like

  • Building strong rapport via phone and email with each client through listening to their ongoing insurance or risk needs and wants.
  • Providing on the spot support to client queries, as well managing multiple ongoing communication with more complex enquiries from time to time.
  • Asking thorough questions about each client’s requirements and providing suitable education on additional HIAIS products and services to create sales opportunities.
  • Regularly collaborating with the Client Manager and other colleagues regarding your ongoing workload, development and client needs.
  • Responsible for Credit control of client invoicing i.e. debt management, payment enquiries and settlements.
  • Opportunity to be in a role that progresses into sales, client work with a small portfolio across multiple products including home warranty and construction

Skills and experience that will lead to success

This position will suit someone with the following experience:

  • Understanding of or willingness to learn financial or accounting documents such as Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements or Loan Documentation
  • Experience within finance administration, customer experience or financial services preferred
  • Insurance industry experience or a passion for our products, helping clients and insurance
  • Tier 1 Accreditation or willingness to obtain immediately.
  • Strong experiences using software programs, such as CRM and Microsoft office suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and complete various complexity of tasks to deadlines.
  • Capability to assess, and complete, work with a high level of attention to detail.
