Director, Corporate Communications


Your Opportunity:

You are a seasoned and strategic Director of Corporate Communications poised to join a newly remodelled global Corporate and External Affairs team based at our new, award winning, Corporate headquarters in Melbourne.

In this key leadership role, you will shape and execute CSL's corporate communications strategy, building a compelling story, enhancing our reputation and ensuring cohesive narrative development across all platforms. You will be instrumental in supporting the Finance and Investor Relations (IR) functions, being the strategic communications business partner to the Chief Financial Officer for financial and investor-related communications. You will be the primary communications counsellor to the CSL Corporate organisation and support communications for key Corporate-related reporting.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, you will:

  • Develop and Implement Corporate Communication Strategy: Craft and execute a comprehensive communication plan that aligns with CSL's business objectives and enhances our corporate narrative.
  • Strategic Business Partner: Provide expert communications advice and expertise to the Chief Financial Officer and senior finance leaders, ensuring alignment with CSL's goals and values.
  • Financial Narrative Leadership: Create and implement a compelling financial narrative that integrates seamlessly into the broader corporate story.
  • Corporate Reporting Communications: Oversee communication needs for corporate reporting, including annual reports, AGM, and media outreach for earnings messages.
  • Media Relations: Coordinate media interactions in Australia and manage CSL's presence in the media landscape, encouraging strong relationships with influential journalists and media outlets.
  • Internal and External Communications: Manage communications efforts related to the Corporate Headquarters, ensuring effective messaging to all relevant audiences.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Corporate Communications Manager, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, or Business.
  • 10+ years of experience in communications in complex organisations such as pharma/biotech, regulated environments, ASX or other high profile organisations.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with a strong presentation and diplomatic presence.
  • Proven ability to influence and build strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in media management and a deep understanding of business finance and investor relations.
