Director, Sustainability Disclosures


We have an exciting opportunity available for a Director, Sustainability Disclosures to join our team in Melbourne. In this newly created position, you will lead CSL's sustainability disclosure strategy and manage a team responsible for global reporting obligations, both voluntary and mandatory. Your work will be crucial in advancing our commitment to sustainable business practices and ensuring transparency in our sustainability initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Sustainability and Social Impact, your responsibilities include:

  • Strategy & Leadership: Advance CSL's sustainability disclosure strategy and lead a team to execute and manage global reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions covering the global enterprise (Americas, EMEA and APAC).
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on global sustainability regulations and standards.
  • Data Management: Implement and enhance sustainability data collection and automation processes.
  • Reporting Processes: Design and lead sustainability reporting processes to best-practice auditing standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with key business functions, including Finance, to analyse and implement new regulations and improve existing disclosure practices.
  • System Oversight: Develop and oversee sustainability reporting system infrastructure, ensuring data quality and standardisation.
  • Risk Management: Partner with Risk and Finance to implement climate risk and resilience assessment processes.

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, sustainability, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, GRI, IFRS) preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry or Big 4 preferred, including Financial Reporting, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, and Internal Controls, or Sustainability management.
  • Expertise in sustainability related disclosures and industry trends, and willingness to develop advanced expertise across evolving regulatory landscape.
  • Comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a sustainability / finance function and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the function.
  • Experience in a complex supply chain environment.
  • Experience in leadership and people management.
