Scientist, Virology Development & Compliance

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Scientist to join our Virus Development team. You will be pivotal in developing seasonal and pandemic influenza viruses for vaccine manufacture. You will provide scientific and technical expertise to support innovation and the delivery of departmental objectives, engage with stakeholders, and ensure departmental compliance.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform reassorting and reverse genetics activities to deliver high-yielding influenza viruses for vaccine production.
  • Perform virus characterization activities such as NGS, RT-PCR, HPLC, and yield analysis using bioreactors.
  • Review and improve documentation processes.
  • Support departmental shipping logistics.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including operational services and several Seqirus sites.
  • Provide scientific and technical guidance to the Virus Development group.
  • Mentor less experienced scientists.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline; post-graduate degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in virology, immunology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, cell culture, or related fields.
  • Expertise in cell culture, molecular biology, and virology.
  • Strong organizational and process management skills.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
