About the position:

Love the outdoors and looking to work in an alpine environment? We’re looking for a self - starter with a broad range of civil maintenance experience. This varied role is responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks on civil assets, including roads, tracks, aqueducts and dams. Duties also include plant operation and maintenance, vegetation management, snow-clearing and supporting our maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plant Maintenance and Assistance: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on civil structures and plant, operating specialised machinery as required
  • Dam Surveillance and Safety: Conduct and report on dam surveillance activities, assist in inspections, carry out corrective actions and maintain records in the maintenance management systems
  • Access Maintenance: Maintain and repair access roads, tracks, bench lines and easements, as well as the grounds surrounding power stations and offices. Contribute to snow clearing operations, maintaining access to SHL buildings and assets during winter
  • Vegetation Maintenance: Clear vegetation from around plant areas, trim and cut trees and re-vegetate disturbed areas to maintain a safe and clean environment

About the location:

This position is based at Khancoban, in the Snowy Valleys, NSW on a 9 day fortnight and is not a DIDO or FIFO arrangement.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience in civil operation works, including mobile plant operation experience
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Google suite and Maintenance Management Systems
  • Good communication skills
  • Capability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well within a well established team that has a strong focus on Snowy Hydros’ values Safety, Teamwork, Ownership, Agility, Decency and Courage

A NSW Class Three boat licence and relevant qualifications such as chainsaw operation, confined space and working at heights are desirable but not essential.
