Job Description

The scheduler is a critical role in our supply chain based in Newport, Melbourne. In this role, you are accountable for stock managing and scheduling fuel deliveries to our customers and surrounding depots and delivering great customer service. This role is not your Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm but does have flexibility day to day. During your 38 hours a week, there is a requirement to take calls and potentially adjust schedules after hours as the role relies heavily on operational success.

Key tasks include

  • Scheduling – planning loads in accordance with regulations
  • Stock management – reviewing and maintaining stock levels for vendor managed sites (VMI) and our internal depots locations
  • Customer service, providing updates on fuel deliveries
  • High internal communication, regular updates and feedback to our customer and internal stakeholders
  • Optimise fleet schedules, maximising products to customer tanks
  • Problem solving, thinking outside the square and providing potential solutions to aid and close unplanned schedule or truck availability changes.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • Well organised and proactive, enabling you to plan and build efficient daily delivery schedules for our fleet across the Victorian and Southern NSW network.
  • A strong communicator, you will be able to deal with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, understand their requirements and the capability of our fleet and drivers.
  • A problem solver! Be able to work with key stakeholders to trouble shoot in real time
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy

Knowledge in the following would be advantageous:

  • Scheduling of bulk fuel or goods & services
  • Bulk fuels operations and its day to day challenges
  • Road Transport Logistics (Dangerous Goods, Chain of Responsibility & Fatigue Laws)
  • General logistics management experience
  • Fatigue Management accreditation and general understanding
  • A background in using ERP systems
  • Working understanding of relevant HSSE requirements.
