Sustainability & Procurement Advisor -12 Month Fixed Term Contract 

In this role, you’ll act as a project manager to lead and drive sustainability projects across Teachers Health on Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) deliverables in furtherance of the Teachers Health Business Plan and ESG Strategy.

Who are we?
Teachers Health was created by teachers for teachers over 65 years ago and is the only health fund exclusively for the education community. As a not-for-profit health fund, we exist for our members covering the lives of over 400,000 teachers, education staff & their families.
  
What will you do?

  • Manage, oversee and update the ESG strategy as appropriate/required.
  • Oversee climate change activities through up-to-date reports, policies, and implementation of the approved climate change roadmap.
  • To perform specialist ESG services for the business.
  • To report on Sustainability to the Risk & Compliance Committee and the Board.
  • To effectively communicate ESG matters that require business education and consideration.
  • To develop and implement a procurement function at Teachers Health which takes account of sustainable practices.
  • To act as a conduit to implement change management practices across the business that address legal, commercial, and regulatory risks in the ESG space.
  • Keep abreast of key laws and regulations which impact the business and provide pro-active advice on all legislative/regulatory changes impacting the Group to ensure that compliance issues are properly evaluated, met and/or resolved, including in particular mandatory climate reporting.

What do you need? 

  • Graduate qualification in Law, project management or ESG specialisation or similar
  • High level project management and communication skills including computer literacy in Office 365
  • Previous ESG/Sustainability experience.
  • Knowledge of mandatory climate risk reporting and associated accounting standards (Desirable) 
  • Knowledge of Corporate Strategy and Business Planning (Desirable)
