About the role:
As the Isolation Planner, you will be accountable for producing detailed isolation plans, including the production of isolation plans to minimise network and customer disruption to ensure a positive customer experience. The position will undertake Isolation Planning that delivers commercially prudent and efficient outcomes consistent with Unitywater’s Customer Charter.

  • Create isolation plans for Planned Network Interventions, minimizing network and customer disruptions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Plan isolations as per the integrated works plan, with contingency measures to reduce operational risks and customer impact.
  • Ensure affected customers are notified 48 hours in advance of outages, in line with Unitywater’s customer charter.
  • Develop detailed isolation plans with step-by-step tasks and contingencies for effective communication with the Control Room and Field Staff.
  • Maintain accurate system records, identifying and escalating any GIS, CMMS, or valve data errors to the Isolation Planning Unit Leader.
  • Ensure isolation plans meet safe drinking water standards, including addressing risks like dirty water through proper flushing.
  • Consider the safe drinking water needs of customers, stakeholders, and regulators in all actions.
  • Collaborate with Network Operations Planning and stakeholders to align outage plans and achieve optimal business and customer outcomes.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related field with significant practical experience.

  • Extensive experience in high-impact, 24/7 environments with urgency.

  • Ability to drive outcomes in urgent situations through systematic problem-solving and confident decision-making.
