About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Commercial, Risk and Advisory, the Program Risk Manager will lead the development and implementation of sophisticated, best-in-class risk management practices that underpin the successful delivery of Unitywater’s capital infrastructure program. This $1.8 billion program requires a dynamic approach to risk management that ensures the provision of timely, insightful, and actionable risk guidance.
  
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in empowering the Integrated Delivery Teams (IDTs)—comprising of Unitywater and its strategic partners—by enabling them to identify, assess, and evaluate risks within their programs and projects. Your efforts will be instrumental in enhancing decision-making, proactively addressing risks, and driving long-term value that balances financial viability with environmental sustainability and resilience in our capital program outcomes.

  • Experience operating in senior risk management roles and the ability to lead teams, build strong relationships, and influence senior leadership, preferably across asset intensive businesses.
  • Capable of inspiring trust, fostering collaboration, and driving a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk management across the organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large, complex programs with diverse stakeholder groups and a focus on risk management throughout the project lifecycle, including involvement in multi-disciplinary projects with strategic, operational, and financial implications.
  • Proven expertise in implementing, managing, and continuously improving risk management frameworks aligned with ISO31000:2018, particularly in identifying, assessing, managing, and monitoring risks in large-scale infrastructure or utility projects.
  • Familiar with using and deploying enterprise risk management and GRC software-based tools across large scale infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Strong ability to integrate risk management strategies within industry standard project execution methodologies to drive optimal project delivery.
  • Extensive experience in leading or facilitating Project Risk Assessment workshops, ensuring comprehensive risk identification, and fostering collaborative decision-making among stakeholders – including use of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments and Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Tertiary qualification in Risk Management or related discipline and certification or membership with professional bodies (e.g., RIMS, AIRMIC, IRM) is highly desirable).
