Civil Estimator


Start 2025 with a new opportunity! If you are Civil Estimator with road, pavement and asphalt experience, Ventia’s Road Transport Team in Stapylton would love to hear from you. In this role you will lead and prepare tenders for road construction and maintenance opportunities, including estimates for existing contract works. About the Role
You will be working with an established high performing delivery team where the operations team is heavily involved in the delivery methodology development and general estimate / tender supporting both small scale project design and construct and larger long term program management road related contracts. Duties include –

  • Analyse tender documentation and development of estimation plan
  • Provide bid management support and prepare accurate  benchmarked, well-structured estimates for road construction tenders
  • Prepare and issue invitations to tender and assess quotations for compliance to applicable specifications, drawings and contract conditions
  • Review proposed project programmes prepared for tender for completeness and accuracy
  • Actively pursue alternative construction methods / solutions to create value competitive tenders
  • Maintain records of tender correspondence, calculations and methodologies
  • Present estimates, including basis of estimates, risks and opportunities at tender review meetings
  • Prepare support estimate analyses and documents/reports including cashflows, P&L, NPVs, R&Os, tender summaries, direct cost reports and schedule of rate markups


Required Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications (Engineering, Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying or similar)
  • Proficient in CATS or Expert Estimation or similar software
  • Proven track record in developing estimates for successful road and civil construction tenders up to $50m+
  • First principle estimating experience
  • High level independence and ability to self-manage the completion of deliverables against hard deadlines
  • Capable of preparing quantitative risk estimates using deterministic and probabilistic methods
  • Understanding of enterprise agreements; ability to prepare shift rosters and convert EA conditions to cost per unit rates for appropriate roles

You must hold full working rights in Australia.
