Cultana Range Supervisor

Ventia are an operations, maintenance and services organisation operating globally in the resources, energy, industrial, infrastructure, rail, and property and defence sectors. 

The Role
Ventia are currently looking to engage a Range Supervisor to provide Range Management services to the Defence Forces. The successful applicant will manage and deliver the cluster of services categorised as Training Areas and Ranges. This is a permanent fulltime position that will see you based in Port Augusta.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all required services are planned, coordinated and delivered according to the specific base and service locations requirements for the training areas and ranges services. This includes the allocation, tasking and sourcing of internal labour, subcontractors and equipment. 
  • Ensure the necessary supervision is in place and able to effectively supervise the service delivery requirements.
  • Conduct service inspections.
  • Coordination of bookings for, and access to the Range or Training Area.
  • Management of the Range communications network.
  • Manage minor training area maintenance.
  • Management of the maintenance of all fire-fighting equipment, including Fire Tankers to a serviceable and fully operational condition, where applicable.
  • Management, operation and administration of an efficient and safe Range service for all facilities, equipment and personnel
  • Coordination and control of Range safety

Skills and Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of ranges service delivery and statutory compliance requirements is desirable.
  • A sound understanding of Contract Management, Quality Management systems and the continuous improvement process.
  • Knowledge of Defence roles, functions and organisation.
  • Well-developed computer, word processing and technical knowledge in MS Word, Excel and Power point.
  • An ability to interact effectively with technical staff, subcontractors, senior military officers and Client representatives.
  • Must hold a current driver’s licence to operate range vehicles/equipment
  • Have good radio communications skills.
