Experienced Estimator to join our Energy, Networks & Renewables Infrastructure Services Team. This is a permanent full time role offering hybrid working conditions (working from home and from our Brisbane [Pinkenba] office).

About the Role
Resource and scheduled based estimation process, the role is responsible for all estimate preparation activities for clients across QLD. It involves all aspects of pricing delivery, including estimate coordination, pricing strategy, preparation and review through Ventia’s governance process, cost estimating, cashflow analysis and reporting, and liaison with various business units to develop and deliver competitive winning estimates and offers. Duties include –

  • Review tender documents and coordinate tender approval
  • Understand cost drivers and basis of estimate
  • Assist in preparing indicative pricing to guide appropriate governance processes
  • Prepare estimates including labour cost calculations, cost estimates and quoting
  • Provide output of pricing schedules and delivery of pricing strategies to identify opportunities to optimise gross margin and market competitiveness
  • Create cashflow from cost estimate and workshop alternative strategies to improve cashflow
  • Assist with provision of proforma pricing schedules for issue to suppliers/subcontractors and subsequent reviews to incorporate into the estimate cost build
  • Prepare basis of estimate and cost summaries and provide handover and debrief of estimate build up to Finance, Commercial and Operations Manager to assist with contract negotiations, budgeting, forecasting and implementation of the project.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification
  • Strong understanding of estimate development process
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience in the energy sector (substations, BESS, distribution transmission)
  • Exposure to D&C and EPC contracting models
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
