Facility Operations Manager


About the role
Reporting to the Senior Technical Services Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the team are exceeding the minimum service requirements as detailed in the Austin Health Integrated Facilities Management Services Agreement.

The successful candidate will provide management leadership and support of site operations for the coordination and execution of activities associated with the Austin Health Contract, and any emergent work that arises.

You will also be required to:

  • Maintain and manage the Maintained Assets and Building Management System to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, peak energy demand, energy consumption costs and water consumption particularly overnight in disused non-critical areas
  • Assist with the development of Asset Lifecycle Planning for the Maintained Assets to enable Austin Health to make informed decisions regarding the refurbishment or replacement of the Maintained Assets
  • Plan and execute all maintenance work to ensure customer requirements are met or exceeded and Ventia’s resources are fully utilised whilst minimising disruption to the delivery of the Clinical Services
  • Using root cause analysis and implement of strategies to prevent fault reoccurrence
  • Reporting and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports and monthly budget and project summaries
  • Overseeing and reporting on work packages, including technical specifications, for planned corrective maintenance activities
  • Managing financial accounts and budget, ensuring operational profit is optimised

About you
The successful candidate ideally with have a relevant degree or trade qualification preferably with extensive experience working in the Healthcare or complex industrial/manufacturing business.

You will also have:

  • An extensive Operations / Management background
  • Maintenance and Contract management experience working in a complex environment
  • Strong Key Stakeholder and budget management experience
  • Knowledge of current OHS Acts/ Regulations, applicable Statutory obligations & Building Codes
