Fire Supervisor


The Role
Ventia are seeking to engage a qualified and experienced Fire Supervisor to join our Defence Base Services contact. This position is based at HMAS Stirling in Rockingham and will see you working within the Estate upkeep team as part of our national Defence contract.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining all fire hydraulic suppression systems with broad knowledge of both wet and dry systems. This can include AFFF Deluge Fire Protection, sprinkler suppression, Fire Indicator Panel’s (FIP), Vesda and oxygen depletion systems. Therefore, experience in hydrocarbons, power generation and lifting and access equipment would be highly advantageous.  
 

To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.
 

Key duties, but not limited to: 

  • Management of subcontractors
  • Inspection/validation of the physical work to ensure compliance with set quality and technical standards
  • Ensure reporting and compliance of activities is completed and maintained
  • Assist with Planning, Scheduling and allocation of activities to be completed within allocated budgets and timeframes
  • Ensure accounts are maintained with appropriate suppliers to ensure equipment and services are available to tradespersons
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry WHS and promote a safe working environment for all staff and subcontractors
  • Attend scheduled meetings with Trades, Sub-Contractors and Customer Representatives, to monitor progress and address issues that could affect Safety, quality, schedule and cost etc


Skills and experience:

  • Experience and understanding of a variety of Fire Systems 
  • Ability to consistently deliver when under pressure and dealing with integrated systems and potential hazards
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating in house trades, including contractors and sub-contractors
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Competent in the use of the MS Office suite, SAP and Power BI is highly regarded
