Groundwater Field Technician


About the role
We are now recruiting an Groundwater Field Technician to perform groundwater monitoring activities, download and calibrate monitoring instrumentation, perform surface water monitoring, and water quality sampling. This role is largely fieldwork which includes, hiking, working from boats, 4WDíng and working in remote areas.  

This role is based in Hamilton VIC, will involve working alone and part of a team across locations in South-western VIC. The successful applicant will be required to stay away overnight from time to time.

What you’ll do:

  • Field water quality sample collection from mainly groundwater monitoring bores.
  • Report creating and tracking & assisting with reporting updates. 
  • Undertaking environmental data collection activities for both surface & groundwaters using specialist software packages and scientific instruments,
  • Servicing, calibrating and maintaining onsite monitoring equipment and associated sensors
  • Undertaking maintenance and new works installations


About You

  • Proficient in the use of hand, power, and pneumatic tools or willingness to learn. •    Trade experience with an affinity for working outdoors
  • Qualifications in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, hydrography can be beneficial but not required
  • Environmental monitoring experience in water, air and soils sampling
  • Electronics / mechanical aptitude
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Driver’s License
