HVAC Technician


The Role    
Ventia is seeking a HVAC Technician to join their dynamic Defence Team at HMAS Stirling / Garden Island, Rockingham WA. As a crucial member of the Estate Upkeep team, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining, repairing, and optimizing facilities and HVAC systems.


Reporting to the HVAC Supervisor, this position is a full-time permanent role, working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:00am – 03:30pm (with paid overtime opportunities) and 1x RDO (Rostered Day Off) per month. A company car (Tool of Trade vehicle) will also be provided for travel to and from the base each day.


The payrate for this position is $42.72 per hour.


To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.

Key duties, but not limited to: 

  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems
  • Contribute to overall site maintenance
  • Perform reactive and planned preventative maintenance and testing as required via Mobility (iPad)
  • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services promptly and efficiently
  • Ensure inspection results are recorded online with objective quality evidence standards
  • Provide flexibility to meet the demands of out of hours and call out work as required


Skills & Experience:

  • WA Driver’s Licence
  • Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
  • Refrigerant Handling Licence
  • WA Electrical Licence – Restricted or Unrestricted
  • Basic set of hand tools
  • Experience in a HVAC role across residential, commercial and industrial work environments
