Kitchenhand / Housekeeper


The Role
Ventia / Wajarri Enterprises Limited (WEL)mare currently looking to engage a Kitchenhand / Housekeeper to support our Living Services team working on Ventia’s Square Kilometre Array Project (SKAO) in South Murchinson. Reporting to the Village Manager, this role will see you play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and a clean working environment. You will also be supporting the camp with housekeeping duties by maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the camp facilities, ensuring a comfortable environment for all staff.


This is a full-time permanent role, working 12hour days on a 2:1 rotating roster. You will be working 06:00am-06:00pm for 1 week as a Housekeeper, and 09:00am-09:00pm for 1 week as a Kitchenhand. The point-of-hire for this position is either Perth (with flights from Jandakot) or Geraldton, WA to Boolardy Airstrip in South Murchinson.


The annual package for this position is $88,900 per year.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping vegetables and fruits
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment
  • Ensure work surfaces and floors are kept clean and sanitized
  • Stock rotation, loading and unloading supplies, restocking consumables, and assist with stock take
  • Daily cleaning tasks in crib rooms, common areas, and bathrooms including sweeping and mopping
  • Manage laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and organising linens and towels


Requirements:

  • WA Driver’s Licence
  • Physically Fit and energetic
  • Must be able to work through a minimum of 20 rooms per day
