Project Accountant


About the Role

Ventia is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to join our Finance team supporting Austin Health. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the financial management of a high-impact healthcare contract. You’ll be responsible for delivering accurate financial and management reporting, driving forecasting and budgeting, and supporting operational decision-making.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Heidelberg, Melbourne. 


What You’ll Do
  • Deliver monthly P&L reports with insights into performance metrics
  • Manage cost allocations, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Lead month-end close processes and support budgeting and forecasting
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure accurate billing and financial reporting
  • Support payroll processing, accounts receivable, and cash flow management
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes
  • Provide commercial support for new contracts and operational teams

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA/CPA preferred)
  • Experience with SAP Project Systems or similar ERP tools
  • Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • A collaborative team player with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Valid driver’s license and current police check
