About the Role

  • In this crucial role, you will offer expert guidance and support to drive excellence in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) performance throughout the business.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments, while actively promoting awareness and understanding of these processes among employees
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate robust Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems that enhance overall business performance and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Offer expert advice, information, and support in Health & Safety compliance, assisting in maintaining adherence to regulatory, contractual, and company requirements, while aligning with community and stakeholder objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement in field performance and compliance by regularly attending worksite operations, providing on-the-ground coaching, mentoring, and support to teams

Please note: This role involves approximately 25% a year of field-based work with operational staff, requiring flexibility and willingness to travel around the Southwest Interconnect region of WA.

About You

  • A qualification in Health and Safety, Risk Management, or a related field, or alternatively, substantial demonstrated experience and knowledge in Health & Safety practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, with a proven ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels on Health & Safety matters
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of developing and implementing effective Health & Safety initiatives to address challenges and improve safety outcomes
  • Technical experience in power systems, overhead distribution, or transmission is highly desirable, though not essential
