Ventia is looking for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join our Defence contract team in a full-time, permanent role. Based in Rockingham or East Fremantle, with regular travel to Defence bases across WA, you'll play a key role in providing leadership, advice, and support to maintain compliance and drive operational excellence at all WA Defence sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor Safety Management Plans and ensure compliance with SHEQ policies
  • Conduct audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards
  • Investigate safety incidents, identifying root causes and providing corrective actions
  • Facilitate training and inductions, fostering a culture of safety across the team
  • Conduct internal and external audits and support continuous improvement programs
  • Partner with leadership to ensure compliance with contractual KPIs and non-conformance management

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental, or Quality Assurance
  • Lead Auditor or incident investigation qualifications (ICAM preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in safety, environmental, and quality roles, ideally within construction or infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of SHEQ legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Proven experience in risk management, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to effectively mentor and influence internal and external stakeholders
