We have a permanent opportunity for a Lead Project Costing Analyst working with our Project Management team. In this role you will be responsible for providing project costing services to support Project Managers in delivering new infrastructure assets, delivered on time and within budget. This position will be based in our Leederville office, reporting to the Team Lead - Project Planning & Cost Analysis.

The role will involve:

  • Apply the Project Management project controls systems and processes, ensuring project data integrity and that information accurately reflects project status.
  • Lead a small team of Cost Analysts supporting project delivery through maintenance of portfolio and project status reports, identification of issues, corrective actions, and support.
  • Provide procurement support through initiating the procurement of goods and services and ensure the timely administration of monthly payments and claims.
  • Resolve issues associated with cost management (such as incorrect purchase orders, incorrect use of procurement system) on behalf of the project manager where requested.
  • Provide project analysis support, ensuring that the cost forecast is aligned with project activities, milestones, and rate of progress. Discover the reasons for discrepancy by challenging the underlying assumptions of the project manager.
  • Assist with project reporting including the identification of inter-contract links to ensure effective coordination of projects.
  • Evaluate and present project analysis reports to communicate the status of projects and contracts and recommend action to ensure targets are achieved.

Key skills and experience:

  • Tertiary level qualification in engineering, project management or relevant discipline, and relevant experience in providing engineering project analytical services.
  • OR
  • Proficient in SAP PS (Project Systems), and SAP SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) or similar, along with contract administration and purchasing experience.
  • Extensive experience in and sound knowledge of providing engineering project analytical services.
  • Demonstrated computing skills in financial software, project management software and Microsoft suite of systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of analysis principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence internal stakeholders will ensure success in this role.
