About the role:
We currently have a permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Tradesperson based at our Subiaco Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of mechanical services including scheduled and unscheduled installation, testing, maintenance, fault finding, repair and commissioning of all Water Corporation’s assets at the Plant.
We are seeking an individual who takes ownership of their work area and can work effectively independently but also contributes to a positive team environment and safety culture.
What you’ll do:
You’ll be responsible for the provision of mechanical services including scheduled and unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance and installation, testing, fault finding, repair and enhance reliability of Mechanical Assets within the Water and Wastewater Industry.
On occasions you will provide breakdown and after hours support services.
Main Duties will involve:
Performing scheduled and unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance in water/wastewater systems and installs electrical and instrumentation components.
Performing complex isolation and shutdowns procedures.
Conducting maintenance tasks and problem solving which requires application of knowledge of complex water treatment and chemical dosing systems.
Complex problem solving of water systems, water, wastewater, and chemical dosing systems.
Planning work and solving water industry problems.
Planning and preparing for maintenance projects on isolated asset.
Key skills and experience:
We are seeking a mechanical trade qualified candidate, ideally possessing strong experience and Ability to repair and overhaul mechanical equipment, such as pumps, gearboxes and valves.
Your dedication to Occupational Health and Safety including hazard identification and well-developed communication skills are essential for this position along with the following:
Mechanical Trade Certificate (Fitter/Machinist/Turner)
Extensive experience in service and maintaining water treatment equipment.
Experience with gas and chemical pipework, pumps and flange management
Relevant High-Risk Licenses
W.A ‘C ‘Class Drivers Licence
