About the role

We have a permanent opportunity based at our Shenton Park office working as part of a small team carrying out complex, specialist hydrometric work in accordance with Water Corporation’s programs of work. You will also be involved with mentoring, coaching and training staff within hydrometric disciplines to support our operations.

Travel throughout Regional WA as required supporting the wider Engineering team. This is a great opportunity to help Water Corporation contribute to our environmental and regulatory compliance. What you can expect with this role

  • Field data collection and validation at rivers, streams, wastewater and groundwater assets throughout the southwest region
  • Carry out flow gauging station ratings and calibration
  • Maintenance and calibration of instruments used for data collection
  • Site investigation and reporting of new monitoring projects
  • Assist professional development of staff engaged in hydrometric work by facilitating training, coaching and mentoring

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

  • A Diploma in Water Industry Operations (Hydrometric Monitoring) OR
  • Diploma in a science discipline (or progressing towards one) and experience
  • Considerable experience in collection, management and presentation of hydrometric data
  • Knowledgeable in specialised hydrography software
  • Ability to coach, mentor, work out of hours, and overnight as required
  • A current C class drivers licence
  • A recreational skippers ticket is desirable
