We are recruiting for a permanent full-time Technical Advisor – Asset Investigation and Monitoring as part of the Maintenance & Reliability team based in Bunbury.

This is a team dedicated to optimising whole of life performance for new and existing assets. We will achieve this through investment planning, informed risk management, maintenance planning and reliability engineering practices which meet the Water Corporation’s operational, financial, environmental, and social requirements within the South West Region.

This opportunity will primarily be based out of Bunbury, it involves regular travel throughout the region and will report to the Team Leader Asset Integration Great Southern and South West Regions

The fundamentals of this role.

You will be an active member of the Maintenance & Reliability team committed to deliver safe, operable, and fully functional assets ready for hand over to the Great Southern Region.

You will demonstrate your leadership skills by engaging, influencing, and motivating project teams to ensure all work is undertaken safely and correctly the first time.

You will manage to identify key risks and business impacts that may arise during a project’s lifecycle and ensure key stakeholders are informed on potential impacts, mitigation, and contingency measures.

Developing strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders will be pivotal in this role to ensure robust communications, and influence outcomes to meet the expectations of the business in achieving fit for purpose assets.

  • Monitor the capital and operational project deliverables ensuring that projects delivered are fit for purpose
  • Recommend capital deferral risk mitigation measures and identify methods of funding and implementation
  • Maintain the asset deficiency process and register
  • Recommend and develop proactive programs for the monitoring of scheme performance
  • Evaluate and articulate asset and system risk and operational impact.
  • Lead system investigations to determine root cause of systemic issues and provide input to planning solutions, and identify operational solutions

Ideally, you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary or Trade-level qualification in an engineering-related discipline
  • Considerable knowledge of wastewater / water related infrastructure assets and systems.
  • Considerable and proven operational experience in effective engineering problem solving and issue resolution
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of work practices and systems relevant to asset/ system inspection, monitoring, and investigations
  • Experience in wastewater / water related operational and asset management capital-intensive industry.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Project / program management knowledge.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
