Water Treatment Senior Technical Advisor

As a Water Treatment - Senior Technical Advisor, you will provide specialist engineering and scientific consultancy service to support conventional water treatment operations throughout the Corporation in regional WA.

This is a permanent opportunity available from 1st November 2024 for a motivated individual with a strong scientific or engineering background to join the Treatment team in Treatment and Resource Recovery (TARR).

This role will help you further develop your technical skills.

You will have opportunity to be in Research and Development space, innovation, and enjoy the interesting part of the role – water treatment technologies!

You will have the opportunity to help the corporation with the technical aspects of water treatment for our regional treatment plants. You will establish relationships with our operators and provide them support.

Your expertise will matter and be vital to this role.

You will predominantly be based in Osborne Park however your work doesn’t stop just here. Forget about having a mundane 9-5 desk job. You will frequently travel across different regional areas including parts of the Northwest and Midwest Regions of WA!

Travel will be required. You are very flexible and adjustable to the business needs.

A valid driver’s license will be required for this role.

The fundamentals of the role:

Provide advice and support in the operation of regional conventional water treatment plants.

Undertake treatment, process, and chemistry investigations to optimise treatment plant performance.

Perform regular review of water treatment plant performance, both desktop and field based.

Provide expertise to capital projects related to Water Treatment

Ideally, you will possess:

  • A tertiary qualification (Degree level or higher) in a relevant scientific or engineering field
  • Advanced knowledge of Water Treatment processes and technologies
  • Demonstrated computing skills and the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, particularly intra-corporation
  • Advanced technical and scientific report writing skills.
