We are seeking a Senior Officer – Water Quality to support the regional implementation of the Water Corporation’s Drinking Water Quality Management Framework. This permanent opportunity based in our Karratha office, takes effect on 10th February 2025, and will report to the Technical Advisor – Water Quality, Operation Services Northwest Region.

What you can expect from this role:

  • Support the Technical Advisor - Water Quality in the implementation of the DWQ Management Framework using a Catchment to Tap approach.
  • Support the Incident Manager in responding to DWQ Incidents.
  • Support water quality investigations, site inspections, water safety plan development and DWQ process audits.
  • Support regional input into the water resource licensing process.
  • Support reviews of DWQ process requirements and implementation of agreed improvements.
  • Liaises with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualification in environmental science, engineering or science AND relevant experience in drinking water quality management and catchment management.

OR

  • Tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering or science AND considerable experience in drinking water quality management and catchment management.

OR

  • Substantial experience in drinking water quality management and catchment management.

OR

  • Good process management skills.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the 2011 Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment processes.
  • Stakeholder management and liaison skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication and written skills.
  • Experience in drinking water quality and water supply operations is desirable.

What’s on offer?

Super 11.5% plus the option of salary sacrificing at least 2% and Water Corporation will match with an additional 2%

Location allowance paid fortnightly as an allowance

Leave loading of 17.5% on annual leave of 4 weeks

Additional five days annual leave after one year of service (working above the 26th parallel)

Other NWR conditions including travel allowances (meals, inconvenience and incidental) for remote travel, annual leave travel conditions and annual leave travel time

Air-conditioning subsidies
